[Coop] Aperture Valentine
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Glados wants you dead.
What could you do?
Dear test subjects, today is your big day!
Robot love is not wrong! Can you and your partner prove this to GLaDOS?
Today you should grab your favorite co-op partner and explore the depths of the aperture science computer aided valentine's track!
In this very big co-op map (estimated playtime 1.5-2 hours) you can expect to find a whole lot custom things and a total of 5 secrets that unlock a final secret room!
This map is brought you by: Josepezdj; Lpfreaky90; Mevious; Sicklebrick and Zivi7
Notes:
* The filesize of this map is huge, about 90 mb, due to all custom stuff. Please have some patience while downloading and loading the map.
* This map is big and long, make sure to have some time on your hands. Estimated playtime 1-2 hours
* The custom fizzlers and skybox look best on high graphic settings. If your computer can't handle them, at least try to increase the shader quality.
* The GLaDOS dialogue is pieced together from the English dialogue from the official game. We hope it also makes sense in other languages.
* If you're interested in technical details of the map, talk to us on this thread on thinkingwithportals.com.
* To keep the difficulty level at the level that everyone could enjoy it we decided to separate some tough chambers from the main course. For a real challenge, check out "Aperture Valentine - The Advanced Chambers" By Josepezdj!
FAQ:
Q: I want to play this map but I've got no one to play it with!
A: It's possible to play the map split-screen if you can't find anyone. To do this;
- subscribe to the map.
- find two buttons that you can easily use to switch players (I use z and x)
- Start up portal 2
- Type in the console: bind z "in_forceuser 0" and press enter. Do the same for bind x "in_forceuser 1" obviously the x and z should be changed in the bind command if you want to use other keys.
- Then type in the console ss_map workshop\594743832017685644\mp_coop_v13.bsp
- Once the map is loaded; type in the console sv_cheats 1
- Now you're good to go; pressing z will let you control blue; pressing x will let you control orange.

Re: [Coop] Aperture Valentine
Without some special people this map wouldn't be close to what it is now. We would especially like to thank:
Chickenmobile
- for custom scribbles for the secret bathroom, her incredibly useful script package to use GlaDOS lines economically via scripting and her tutorial for custom closed captions
Fluppy and Gig
- for testing and lending us a puzzle concept from their awesome coop mappack
Space Gardens
Miss Stabby
- for her Aperture Science Paraffine Illumination Cylinders (in layman's terms „candles“) we had already used in
Aperture Halloween
Moth
- for his work-saving instances
Mumbles
– for taking the time to optimize the lightmapscales, the base-model for the pink fizzlers and his awesome test runs. Most memorable quote: „Just soloed the whole intro, demo uploading“
This is the result (SPOILERS!!!)
NocturnalGhost
- for his awesome lever switch for coop maps example
Skotty
- for the tuberide-model, the big fizzler models and his tutorial on how to decompile models. Combine that with this rescaling tutorial from interlopers.net and Jose's instructions how to recompile models and you can create new models for your 3D skybox
Many others who have helped by testing the map or just knowing the best solution for problems that popped up along the way:
Azorae, BenVlodgi, Brainstone, ColorCubeMan, Jepp, Portalized, Ross Friedberg, Twinkie and Vdarling
We'll be soon uploading a package of the custom skybox models we created for this map. Keep your eyes opened

Re: [Coop] Aperture Valentine
I've got nothing else to do today
Edit:
This was the best coop map I've played (possibly ever?). It was really well done, kudos to everyone who worked on it. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the puzzles, and had a lot of fun actually solving PUZZLES!

Re: [Coop] Aperture Valentine
Everything in this map was well done except for that really annoying room with the funnels and the cubes. We could find no possible way to do this room without using a glitch i.e. take a cube with you and crouch to get it under the fizzler to get in the ramp room
I never got to see Mah scribbles on the bathroom wall!
Plus I felt happy that the credits thanked me twice...
7/10
EDIT: Also we found the missing door after revisiting the map.
Do I get a prize?

Although very vague and confusing I found it moderately enjoyable. 4/5

Sorry, we didn't announce it yet, but we have a winner already. Actually two winners. Srs bsnss was the first to find them all, but he had QUBE already so he got something else and Chicken got QUBE.

Actually, I didn't have QUBE, but wasn't especially keen for it. But LP gave me Snapshot
