How about stopping this?
I mean, the Off-t(r)opic section of the forum is getting waaaay more off-t(r)opic than is good. There are some stupid topics created every day, and the one about Doomsday is not an exception. This forum is a great community of mappers and people as such. Please don't ruin it
If it was up to me, I would have locked all this crap and let it go this way (right into /dev/null) _________________ Test Chamber 74:

It would be nice to just ignore the problem at hand, but problems don't particularly like being ignored. I think it's more important to get this stuff out in the open, particularly when certain stories (Doomsday's, for example) only have one side presented.
Turns out, maybe msleeper wasn't just a heartless asshole, he might have had a good reason for what he did.
Shit, we're getting dangerously close to taking the Internet seriously. _________________

Oh dear, when that happens we know we have a serious issue. _________________

I read this sentence over and over again:
"You shouldn't take the internet serious"
It is true, but that does NOT make it an excuse for being an asshole, even if it's only against words. Always remember: those words were written by a real person, someone like you. _________________

Yeah it's easy to be asshole in internet, because we don't see or even know each others, but if we fight in reallife face to face, most off us will get quiet, I think, because then we understand each others better. _________________ Project Reform 5% (?) ready. |

On the internet, I pretend you're all cave-dwelling terrorists and backwoods yokels, connecting to the internet through a network of Campbell's Soup cans and duct tape.
Sometimes I envision a world more akin to Mad Max, in which everyone except me is a mutant, roaming the desolate wasteland of our post apocalyptic world. In this world, the only Internet Service Provider left is AOL, which relays data via cockroaches wearing transmitter-backpacks.
It turns me on. _________________ - Hamst3r

ROFL-copter. Some much needed humor in this thread. I have to admit I never think of people I "know" on the net as real people, even the ones I talk to in Ventrillo (voice chat for those who don't know). I've always considered you all as little AI programs that reside in my system and are there for the sole purpose of my amusement, even the annoying ones.
"Campbell's Soup cans and duct tape" --- that's classic. _________________

funny story there, back in the day when NOONE had high speed internet connections, and my people didn't even have dial up. i wrote a little BASIC program that would allow you to enter your name, and type some stuff, and would take some of what you wrote and guess what you were trying to say, and make simple responses, basically it "looked" like you were chatting. and i told my nephew (who's about 4 years younger than me) "Yeah i got the internet and you can chat and shit" and i showed him, after a few minutes of typing it started beeping at him and flashed on the screen "THIS WAS A JOKE, LOSER!"
he totally bought it. _________________

Frankly I'm a little pissed that cornon hasn't graced us with his presence yet. Anyway, if you all don't like the way I act, or the way I allow other to act, then that's fine by me. The door is that way, don't let it hit your ass on the way out.

Man, you guys exaggerate so much. I just wanted people to be treated with a decent amount of respect. TF2Maps.net is a perfect example. constructive criticism (not saying we dont have that here), even harsh sometimes. I don't care about any hug-fests.
That is all. |
