Huh? That doesn't make sense. If your PC can run Vista, then it can run the games you play. Upgrading to Vista wouldn't affect your ability to play games?
Also, you can probably upgrade whatever existing hardware you have for relatively cheap. 2gb of RAM can run you as little as $60. _________________

I prefer to get top-of-the-line machinery when I get a new PC. Whole pointthough is I don't have the money to pay for an upgrade ATM. _________________

Neither do I, I got mine as a gift and I dont expect to ever get anything like this again. I just like my PC, and it came with vista so I upgraded my PSU and GPU _________________

Funny you should bring up 98 vs 98SE in this debate. The main difference between 98 and 98SE as well as XP and Vista is the kernel upgrade. 98 was built off the 3.1 kernel while 98SE was built off the much improved NT kernel which is what XP is based on. Vista represents the first new OS kernel Microsoft has developed in a long time. These are in fact significant differences.
Personally I'm still using XP because that's what my current machine came with it. After being out for 7 years now they've worked out almost all the bugs. Of course it still has problems, nothings perfect. My next machine will be Vista 64 bit. I do like the Vista interface and the way it organizes files. I mainly want to go to 64 bit so I can run 6 gigs of RAM Yes I can get XP Pro with 64 bit but there's not a lot of driver and software support for it. Eventually Microsoft will force us all into Vista just like they did with XP. Either that or we'll all go to Mac or some flavor of Linux. _________________
