Hi guys!

Let me start this post by explaining my recent inactivity:
A while ago, Internet Explore started fucking up. I really didn't like that (duh), and instantly switched to Firefox. The

problem here was whenever I tried to log on TWP, nothing happened.

Now, as promised, this map is released in 2009 ().

But really:
I started this map back in summer, and continued for a while. I was sure it would be great and done before 2010.

Now, here I was, 26th of december, realising, that 2010 is 5 days away, and I'd like to keep my promise. All I could do was play through the map and look how much I think I should add.

It may be a bit short, but hell, it's something. I hope you enjoy.

Also, I don't play much portal anymore, which is why I didn't continue the map. I expected it to be much longer.

Maybe I will get inspired when, if, Portal 2 comes out.

Okay..

I downloaded this map in 23:42, Dec 28 and completed in 00:00 (started writing this in 00:01), Dec 29 (GMT+2). And I think that even wouldn't classify as completion, because I had to cheat (specifically host_timescale 0.3) to get through the last puzzle.

The map was great in overall looking, kinda fitted into the Portal style.

The puzzles I found fun, and kept with [spoiler]my own theory of that after Portal, the puzzles grew indefinitely hard, and one day became so hard so they were impossible within a single chamber (that's where my map pack goes)[/spoiler]. Also, timings were funny, and I recognized the trailer. :D

The length: I didn't find this map short. Maybe it was the level of puzzles? I don't know.

Anyway, finished writing this in 00:10, Dec 29 (GMT+2) and still first to comment! Hooray! :D :D :D :D

I just finished playing. It is a good map, most puzzles were not hard and easily performable. To me it didn't seem that short, it was a longer one, in fact. I couldn't find out how to get the cube out of the platform in the big big room, however. Plus couldn't perform the last fling.
I really missed the portal bumpers, but at least there were detachable cameras :D [spoiler]And I found the BTS area.[/spoiler]
Thank you for this map, at least something to play in Portal after a long time...

Abandoned Facility: Portal Challenge

For no reason, I did Abandoned Facility: Portal Challenge (which isn't really there, so I had to make my own) and my best result is 26 portals.

If you want to beat me, the top view is in attachment and here are my results:

1: 0 Portals (a dumb wall deflection)
2: 2 Portals
3: 6 Portals (3 to retrieve the first cube and 3 to retrieve second)
4: 4 Portals
5: 4 Portals
6: 2 Portals (to do an infinite fall)
7: 4 Portals
8: 4 Portals[/i]

Code:
Part MyRes YourRes MinRes
1      0      0      0
2      2      2      2
3      6      4      4
4      4      2      2
5      4      5      4
6      2      2      2
7      4      4      4
8      4      5      4
Total  26     24     22

(MyRes - My Result, YourRes - Your Result, MinRes - Minimum Result between us)

Haha, I found two advantages of this system: :D

1. It lets us both (and everyone else) know the REAL minimum amount of portals required to complete the map (if I was given only the facts that I did it in 26 portals and you did it in 24 portals, I wouldn't even guess the minimum is 22 portals).
2. When I (you) know which parts you (I) did better it's very easy for me (you) to find where I (you) went wrong and fix myself (yourself).

Now off to the step and time challenges! :D

P.S. By the way, I've set the medals on the portal challenge like this:
Bronze - 45 portals (your screenie)
Silver - 31 portal (interpolation between Bronze and Gold)
Gold - 22 portals (the REAL minimum)

Oh common. I'd start figuring out the time challenge if not Remmiz. :D

If I wrote "Hello there" you'd say the same.
