Down to the last day, we'll see how it turns out in a couple of hours.

I do feel bad for Rivid and gepy though, both maps were fun and very very interesting. I still need to write personal reviews for the other 3.

yeah they shouldn't feel bad, I didn't even finish my map enough to submit it. I enjoyed the maps, The fall has a jump at the end that I spent quite a while trying before I gave up :S

I liked all the maps, good job all four of you Wink

Don't feel bad for me Smile

It was fun, and it was more of a learning experience. I didn't expect much out of it. All the maps were great, though.

maybe one day, when enough people have proved their mapping prowise, people could work on a collaborative project. A message board only those people could access, chat, etc. Design a project together (by voting and proposing ideas. Then later drawings etc.) Something as long as the portal single player. Perhaps have people specialize... one person blocks out the basic layout of every level. One person goes through and adds all the elevators... step by step...

I dunno why I thought of that when thinking about the contests... but it sounds like fun.

Perhaps a 2-person contest in the future? Wink

team up and make maps Razz

Don't forget about the secondary attention from the October Map Pack. (Which should probably be called the November Map Pack Rolling Eyes )

If the SDK update hasn't fucked everyone's map, I'm going to see if the 4 of them want to recompile their maps without the zillion noportal_volume's and real cubemaps and shit before releasing.

Having a team project could be awesome... or it could fail miserably. But it's probably a risk worth taking. In either case, it'd probably be fun.

At the risk of sounding like a pessimist, I have yet to see a successful, completed community project in the many many years I have been mapping and modding. But if everyone wants it, and we can get some people actually aboard for it, maybe we can do it in a bit.

Voting over, congradulations to Shmitz! Check out the front page for our newest Community Spotlight.

Thank you to Rivid, meloen, and gepy for their excellent submissions. Myself and the rest of the community hopes you all will participate in our next contest, Companion Cube Challenge.

I will be making a map pack with all 4 maps available. If you want to go ahead and make any last-minute changes to your map, such as recompiling with the updated SDK so you don't have to use a million noportal_volumes, let me know and I'll be sure to hold off.
