Forum Rules - Read Before Posting

This site is dedicated to mapping and information about modding the newst Valve title, Portal. We have a few rules here that can make your stay as best as possible.

Signature Rules
Acceptable signature sizes are 400x100 and no bigger than say 100k, and/or 100 pixels worth of text (usually 2 or 3 lines). Your signature will be removed if you violate this rule! This is not rocket surgery, and no I will not increase this just because you have some signature that you like. Huge sigs make a forum ugly, people are here to read about Portal, not look at your 100 different user bars. Want more than one signature? Go to MyPHPsig and sign up for a rotating signature.

Links to Drugwar/Outwar/Free iPods/etc, pretty much anything that requires people to click on a link are not allowed. First offense is a warning, second offense is a ban! Again this doesn't take a genius to figure out, use common sense!

Posting Rules
Do not post in ancient threads. If a thread is months old, just start a new one.

Don't post links to illegal files (warez, etc.). We aren't a piracy forum, so we won't for stand it. If you are looking to acquire some software, take it to PM please.

Don't ask where to find illegal files. If you don't know how to get your hands on something, you shouldn't be asking for it in the first place.

We have done our best to try and stop spambots, but we're not perfect. If you see a bot thread (links to sex tapes, sex sites, etc), REPORT IT! Click the Blue Card and an administrator or moderator will be notified. Also, DO NOT RESPOND TO SPAM THREADS! You may be Yellow Card'ed for this.

Speaking of Blue Cards, if you feel someone has violated a forum rule or is being out of line, click the Blue Card button (once!) and it will be flagged for the moderators. If you want to send a message to us, you can do so by following the links. Abuse of this feature will get you Yellow Carded!

Speaking of Yellow Cards, we are on a strict "3 strikes you're out" policy here. If you get a Yellow Card, it will show up underneath your username, and the moderator who did so will send you a PM of why you got it.

Banner Ads and Supporters
Due to rising server costs, we have had to unfortunately put in some banner ads on the site. Hopefully it isn't anything too obtrusive, but it's the only choice we had! Thank you to those who have donated in the past before the Banner Ads were implemented, you guys really help keep the server alive.

Banner Ads are disabled for Supporters however! As one of the rewards for supporting the site, you won't have to worry about Banner Ads once you donate $10 or more.
